To anybody who hasn’t visited Italy… GO! Throw some clothes in a bag, leave your dog with the neighbor, drive to the airport, and get on a plane now! I am only slightly kidding.
As long as my schedule… ahem… and budget allows, I try to get to Italy once every 2-3 years. When I am able to go, I make sure to visit at least one new part of the country. On this last visit, I had the pleasure of spending two weeks at Lake Como. No, I did not run into George Clooney. Yes, I still managed to enjoy myself. Hard to believe… I know.
For my interested viewers, I did enjoy lots of other eye candy on the trip. Beyond that, the visual stimulation was all scenery and architecture. In addition to the vast amount of waterfront villages, I found a great love for doors. You read right… I just wrote doors. Every door I passed seem to be an architectural exploration of its own. From different uses of metal to colors to sizes, they all seemed unique from the next. I have tried to find a similar experience in the states, but haven’t come across anything even close. Suggestions are encouraged!
