Being from the Midwest, it is hard to not be overwhelmed by the appeal of Arizona. All the grays that I’m used to from Minneapolis winters were greatly contrasted by the brown and red tones of the scenery. There is this whole ‘blend, don’t offend’ mentality to house colors and landscaping. At first, I thought boring… but by the end of my first visit I had a new appreciation. The mountain scenery really stays the focus when the housing colors don’t have to obstruct your view.
I felt most inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere in Sedona. Sedona… what can I say about Sedona other than beautiful! I have found nothing that compares to the natural vibrancy of the red clay color of the Red Rocks. At sunset, the red is even more intense.
Its nice to see when a community full supports its environment. All the architecture in the area compliments the natural color and shape of the rocks. And just to fully please the artist in me… shops, galleries, and more shops.
Is it to early to same I’m in love?
At every corner, there are new treasures to be found. For anyone who wishes to explore without a huge plane trip… Arizona is a great spot. Just make sure Sedona is on your list!
